With just a couple of days left in 2021, have you made plans to ring in the New Year? Whether you’re hosting a gathering or keeping it low key, we can help with the goodies you need to celebrate!

We’ve got fun cakes, tasty cookies, and plenty of pastries options to make sure you’re deliciously celebrating the end of the year. Ashley’s is open until 3pm on New Year’s Eve, so there’s still time to call and place your order, or you can swing by and select items from our cases.

As we look ahead to 2022, we can’t help but reflect on the past 12 months. What a ride it’s been again this year!

A recap of 2021
We started out in January with a clean slate and the sense of hopefulness that comes with the start of each new year. We shared what was in store for the bakery, including more gluten free product offerings and a feature cookie of the month.

As we celebrated Valentine’s Day, we couldn’t help but take a moment to reflect on you, customers that become friends and family to us over the years. Without your support, we wouldn’t be here today, and we are forever thankful for you.

March brought in brighter days and the hint of warmer weather, and the great news that Oakwood was voted the number one place to live in Ohio.  We couldn’t agree more! We’re lucky to have planted roots here in this great community, and to have a business that is thriving because of the support of all of you.

We’ve been in business for almost 40 decades – no easy feat! – and we’re often asked where we get our ideas for new treats, or how we keep up with emerging trends. In April, we shared a glimpse behind the scenes and how we get our ideas for all of our sweet treats.

The summer months brought sunny skies and the sense of relaxation that can only come with warmer weather and longer days. We introduced you to a local partner and favorite chef Summer Key, provided ideas for a summer bucket list, and rounded up some of the best farmer’s markets in the area.

As August rolled around, we were hopeful for a return to normalcy to get kids back in the classroom again. For families making the big transition of sending a student off to college, we reminded them we could help send a taste of home with our college care packages.

We blinked and suddenly it was fall, with the crisp air and changing leaves, and the smells of the season filling the bakery. Fall is a favorite season around here, and we have the products to support that sentiment. It’s always a good day when the pumpkin and apple flavors come back to the bakery.

November brings an attitude of gratitude to the bakery, and we find ourselves in awe of yet another year of awesome support and love from you. This year, you voted our bakery the Best of Dayton, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything you’ve done for us over the years.

Then, it’s the hustle of the holiday season and all the magic (we’re looking at you, Sprinkles!) that comes with it. We’re busy baking and filling orders and enjoying the wonder of the season. Now we’re in the final days of the year and we find ourselves in a good place: happy, content, grateful, hopeful.

We believe there’s a lot of good things to come in the New Year for all of us. We’re looking forward to a bright, happy, healthy 2022 with all of you. Thank you for being here, and for your support. We couldn’t do this without you.

Happy New Year!
