There are many things in life that I love, but donuts and pajamas are pretty close to the top of my list. (Pajamas with donuts on them – jackpot!)
One of my favorite things to see at the bakery are families that come in the mornings, kids still clothed in their pjs, to select their favorite donuts from our bakery cases.
I love the excitement in their eyes as they point to the treat they want. I love how the kids are so eager for donuts, they don’t worry about taking the time to get dressed. They just want to get here and get here fast! They want their favorite flavors or their favorite kind before they’re gone.
We love that little kids love to come in and choose from our variety of donut flavors. We have classics like custard and jelly-filled, a variety of cake donuts, and one of our most popular, glazed croissants.
We mostly get kids in pjs on Saturday mornings, and it reminds me of my own children on Saturday mornings. We’ve always been early birds, and Saturday mornings were no different. But there was just something so carefree about these mornings, when we could lounge a bit longer, enjoying cartoons and donuts – a delicious treat and deviation from our normal morning routine.
While I miss those mornings with my own kids, it’s so fun to savor Saturdays with my grandkids. And yes, we often hang together in pajamas (but I make sure to get dressed before I head out the door!)
National Family PJ Day
On November 14, it’s National Family Pajama Day. What a fun day to celebrate, right?
According to the website NationalToday.com, National Family PJ Day is a day to combine two great things – your favorite comfy loungewear and your favorite people. This holiday started in 2019, but this is a fun one to get behind.
If you’ve been wondering if you should jump on the family matching Christmas pajama bandwagon, we say yes, and this is the perfect reason why. Pick out some new pajamas for the family and enjoy relaxing in matching style.
So, on Monday when you get home from work, dig out the matching Christmas pjs, have everyone get comfortable, and enjoy spending time with those you love.
Simple ways to celebrate

- Play a board game together
- Assemble a jigsaw puzzle
- Read a book
- Make dinner together and sit down to enjoy the meal as a family
- Watch a favorite movie
- Call a family member who lives out of town
- Enjoy donuts from Ashley’s for breakfast to start the day on a fun note
- Pick up a loaf of fresh bread to enjoy with dinner (we bake ours fresh daily!)
