Happy New Year 2

Here we are, at the end of December, just two days left in 2022. How did we get here already? I feel like we were just writing this blog one year ago, with the hopefulness that 2022 would bring.

Now, we’re looking at the New Year right on the horizon, but we can’t help but glance back in the rearview at the ride we had this year.

For us personally, 2022 was a year full of health challenges and unexpected twists and turns, but also moments of much love and laughter and intense gratitude.

For us professionally, it was another great year at the bakery, and we know we couldn’t do this without the unending support and loyalty from you, our wonderful customers. We’ve said it before, but it certainly holds true: you are more than customers to us. You are family, too.

Thank you for trusting Ashley’s Pastries with your special occasions and milestone events and everyday moments in between. We love helping you celebrate life deliciously!

Looking back
As we say goodbye to 2022, we’d like to take a look at a few highlights from this year.

Our bakery was buzzing in February as we celebrated the Cincinnati Bengals’ run to the Superbowl. We could barely keep up with the demand for the orange and black sweet treats. It seems as soon as the cookies and cakes made it to our cases, they were gone, snatched up as fans celebrated the historic run to the biggest football game of the year.

We were excited to welcome guests and visitors back to the area in March when March Madness came back to town. After the pandemic put the brakes on the tournament, it was good to see things start to return to normal. The road to the Final Four starts right here in Dayton with the First Four, and we were happy to bake sweets to help fans honor their favorite teams making it to the big dance.

This summer Ashley’s Pastries hit a big milestone – 40 years in business! What a feat! We dreamed about this business decades ago, and here we are today, still doing a job we love, with the support of a community and customers we love. This was a big event to celebrate this year and we’re glad we could share it with all of you.

We blinked and summer gave way to fall, and suddenly students were back to the routine of school and sports and the busy schedules that come with the demands of life.

Halloween came and went, and we focused on an attitude of gratitude as the holiday season rolled around. This year, you again voted our bakery the Best of Dayton, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everything you’ve done for us over the years.

December was a blur of gingerbread and sprinkles, ribbons and bows, magic and fun as we eagerly prepared for Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. It was a wonderful holiday season!

That leads us to now…the end of the month, the end of the year. For me, it’s always a mix of emotions. There’s a sadness as we prepare to turn the page, but also excitement about starting fresh. I also feel thankful for the opportunity to be here, and to be surrounded by friends, family and loved ones as we usher in the new year.

Countdown is on
There’s still time to pick up your favorite pastries, cookies and cakes to ring in 2023.
