Halloween is Friday, so now is the perfect time to enjoy all the fun the season has to offer.
Whether you’ve still got pumpkins to carve, want to squeeze in a surprise Boo Basket for a neighbor or prep something easy to eat before you trick-or-treat, we can help make sure this week is a haunting good time.
Start your week by getting creative with pumpkins. After all, nothing says Halloween like a classic jack-o-lantern sitting on your porch Halloween night. Make it a family affair by letting everyone pick a pumpkin to decorate. You can carve a fun or scary design, or if you’re short on time, you can decorate with markers, stickers, or paint. While you’re at it, toss in other décor: string lights, faux cobwebs, and perhaps a little spooky music.
If your house is like mine, this month has gone quickly and we haven’t had time for one of our favorite fall traditions – a Boo Basket. We’re going to be sure to do this before Friday comes. If you’re not familiar, a Boo Basket is when you leave a surprise basket of treats on someone’s doorstep. Fill it with snacks, candy, Halloween-themed items, small toys, stickers – anything goes! Just make sure to include a “You’ve been boo’d” sign and instructions if they’d like to pass it on.
We all know the excitement of trick-or-treating can make the night hectic as you’re trying to wrangle costumes, face paint and photos. With all of that going on, it can be hard to figure out dinner, too. A simmering pot of chili is a Halloween staple. You can serve up a big or small bowl to match the appetite of your little ghouls. It’s also fun to have finger foods available for grazing before kids consume any candy. You can wrap hotdogs in crescent rolls for “mummy dogs”, a fun, easy-to-eat meal before or after trick-or-treat. And a charcuterie tray is always a hit with kids and adults. Put multiple cheeses, crackers, dips, veggies, and more on a pretty platter and you’re good to go.
Finally, make sure to stop by to see us at Ashley’s. We’ve got all sorts of Halloween-themed goodies to take any party up a notch. We have our delicious donuts, decorated sugar cookies and cakes, seasonal pumpkin spice muffins, and more. There’s still time to call in for a custom order, or you can swing by for some Bakery Bucks to hand out to trick-or-treaters.
This week is sure to be fast, fun, and full of memory-making. We’re honored when you choose us to help you celebrate life deliciously. Here’s witching you a Happy Halloween!
