How different the world looks today compared to one week ago.
A week ago, kids were still in school.
A week ago, sports were still being played.
A week ago, the town was abuzz with the excitement of the Dayton Flyers and their chance to soar in the NCAA March Madness tournament.

Today, things are much quieter around town.
Schools are closed.
The sports world is halted.
Restaurants and bars are only open for carryout.
Employees are working from home.
And we are all encouraged to stay inside, practice social distancing, and avoid crowds in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
WOW.

This is unprecedented. And it’s scary because there’s a lot of unknowns. For a lot of us, the unknowns can be uneasy.

This is a time when everyone needs to be smart. This virus is new and different from other viruses we’ve seen before. We need to follow the recommendations of our government officials, leaders and doctors. We need to make sure we’re doing what we can to prevent the spread and to make sure we don’t overwhelm our hospitals and health care system.

But this isn’t all doom and gloom. Things will go on and we will get through this and I know we will be stronger on the other side.

As a family, lean on each other. For a lot of us, family and close friends can help us feel safe and settled when the outside world feels uncertain. Use this time to connect with family. Play board games. Put together a puzzle. Read a book together. Watch a movie. Connect in ways that perhaps you haven’t had time to do in a while.

This is the perfect time to enjoy good food together! Take time to try that recipe you’ve been putting off. Food can provide comfort, too.

We will be here and we will have freshly baked breads, rolls, cookies, coffee cakes, cupcakes and cake pops — all of the treats you’ve come to love and expect from us will still be here.

We are taking all measures necessary to ensure our employees are safe and healthy. We are keeping the bakery clean. We are offering curbside service. Call in your order for your favorite treats and we can bring them out to you!

We need your support now than ever and we need to rally around other small businesses in the community. Let’s help each other get through this by spreading love and kindness.
