March Madness Blog - Dayton, OH

It’s here! Now that Selection Sunday has come and gone, March Madness has officially begun. It’s time to fill out those brackets and make your game plan for following all the tournament action. Are you rooting for the local Wright State Raiders? Or are you following another Ohio team? With Xavier, Cincinnati and Ohio State all in as well, there are plenty of local teams to cheer for, and we can help with all your game day needs. After all, Dayton is where the games begin, so it’s only fitting that our team bakes for you!

Whether you’re hosting a gathering or just watching  from the comfort of your own couch, we can help make the games more delicious. Get creative if you’re serving up a party dip — put it in a round bread loaf! If you’ve got a soup simmering, dish it up in bread bowls for a fun and tasty alternative. Here’s an easy recipe from Southern Living for a super-quick chili to serve in hollowed out dinner rolls – perfectly portable so you can leave the kitchen without missing any of the on-court action. We bake bread daily, so you can pop in and take home the freshly baked goodness in time for tip-off.

Juicy hamburgers and hot dogs always make good game day food. Add in Ashley’s fresh bakery buns to this elevate this staple meal. If you want something more than the standard ketchup and mustard on your hot dog, a quick Google search reveals lots of ideas for creative toppings. For a tasty (and simple!) tournament option, try the Salty Dog from Real Simple… just add mustard, pickle slices and crumbled bacon. Yum!

And once you’ve got the main course covered, don’t forget about the second half. Ashley’s can make custom cookies, cupcakes and cakes to highlight your team. Customized treats make the games more delicious!

So remember, as you’re filling out that winning bracket, the road to the Final Four begins with a call to Ashley’s Pastry Shop.
