The sound of “Pomp and Circumstance” will be filling auditoriums, gyms, theaters and schools everywhere. The calendar has flipped to May, which means school will soon be out for the summer and graduates will be entering the world.

Whether you have a student making a major transition from high school to college or preschool to kindergarten, Ashley’s Pastries would be honored to be a part of your family’s milestone celebration.

Planning the party
May is a busy month for many families. Calendars are full of end-of-the-year school events. Spring sports seasons pick up. And then you have holidays like Mother’s Day and Memorial Day, with perhaps a family birthday party, baby shower or even a wedding thrown in the mix. Time is precious and we’re all limited on how much we have, so think about what would work best for your family if you’re planning to throw a celebration. Then think about what kind of party you’ll have for your graduate.

Will it be one for the masses, where family and friends are all invited? Will you do something smaller and more intimate, like a nice meal at an upscale restaurant for immediate family and grandparents? What about a backyard BBQ? Or how about a breakfast celebration?

The options for graduation parties really are endless and the celebrations aren’t limited to May. You have the summer ahead of you to get ready to honor your graduate and we’d like to help.

If you’re having a large-scale celebration, send out invitations now, if you haven’t already. This allows people time to get it on the calendar and RSVP to make things easier on your end. When you’re doing a big party, consider a caterer if the budget allows. This can take something off your plate and you can enjoy being a host instead of refilling the buffet line. If you want help with the meal but not something super fancy, carry out all the fixings for a taco bar or a favorite local restaurant.

Keep in mind that Ashley’s Pastries can help with more than just dessert. Place an order for our small buns for sandwiches or favorites like salt sticks to go along with your catered meal.

What another idea? How about a breakfast party? Host a gathering mid-morning and serve breakfast casseroles (which can be made ahead of time), quiche and simple sides like fresh fruit, a hearty green salad and a tray of pastries. Call us and let us arrange a tray of your favorite breakfast pastries and a few of our favorites and you know the menu will make the grade with all your guests.

Desserts take center stage
Whether it’s a breakfast feast or a backyard BBQ, no party is complete without desserts! We specialize in custom orders and can make cakes, cookies or cupcakes for your graduate. We can match school colors and school logos. We can also do fun photo cakes for your graduate or decorate a cake to match the theme of your invitations. We love baking memories and we love to help bring your visions to life, so if you have something in mind, we’d love to hear it! We’re all about celebrating life deliciously and we certainly think there’s no better time to do that than a graduation.

To all of the graduates in the class of 2019, congratulations!
