You’ve just heard the amazing news that your sister or friend or cousin or daughter is going to have a baby. So exciting! As you imagine the joy of holding a new bundle, your mind also races to things to do to help shower the mom-to-be with love. There’s the fun of building a baby registry, decorating the nursery, and shopping for cute baby clothes. There’s also the anticipation of planning a baby shower.
What will the theme be?
What games will you play?
What food will you serve?
Although there’s plenty of to-dos when it comes to a shower, Ashley’s can help cross items off the list, while making the day memorable for the mom-to-be. We can customize the desserts (think cake, cupcakes, cookies- even cake pops) for your shower to match the nursery theme or the invitation. We can also keep things simple and sweet and opt for pretty pink or blue. And if it’s a baby shower where the gender is a surprise, no worries! We can make neutral treats that will work for a boy or a girl.
We can make mom’s favorite treats, too, or cater to her sweet tooth pregnancy cravings. Part of the fun for us is working with you on your vision and helping that come to life!
As with most things these days, anything goes when it comes to baby showers. More showers are becoming co-ed events where dads are welcome, too.
Here are a few ideas we’re loving right now:
- Book-themed baby showers – food and treats are planned around classics like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and Goodnight Moon. Bonus – give the mom-to-be the books to start building baby’s library!
- A BBQ /cookout themed baby shower – perfect for a summer shower, a BBQ or cookout theme is great for a co-ed shower. It’s also fun for an evening party, instead of the usual afternoon event.
- A garden party – with flowers in full bloom, this is a pretty (and simple!) way to celebrate a baby girl.
- A woodland themed shower – keeping with nature, a woodland shower is a fun way to incorporate natural elements. It’s a great theme when you need something neutral but also works well for baby boys.
