We have a big milestone to celebrate and we want you to join us. After all, you’re an important part of this because we couldn’t have done it without you. We wouldn’t be here without you and your loyalty and support.
This June (the 15th, to be exact), Ashley’s Pastries celebrates our 35th anniversary. In some ways, it doesn’t seem possible to think we opened our shop on Park Avenue 35 years ago and have been baking deliciousness since then, sharing in life’s special memories for multiple generations. Thank you for including us in your celebrations. Thank you for stopping in to grab a donut in the morning, and coming back to order birthday cakes and favorite pies and elegant wedding cakes throughout the years.
Sharing milestones and memories
As we look back on where we started to where we are today, we are honored that our customers have included us in their celebrations. From smash cakes for first birthdays to sheet cakes for graduation parties, you’ve chosen Ashley’s and trusted us to be a part of your family’s milestones. Countless employees have made this journey worthwhile and we’ve had the fortunate opportunity for business partnerships with some of the finest restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and country clubs in the area.
When we first opened, we didn’t imagine we’d be a stop for famous stars when they came back to town. What a treat it’s been for us when our hometown stars — Allison Janney, Rob Lowe, Martin Sheen, Micah Stock, Beth Stelling, Gretchen Bleiler — stop in for a dessert when they’re back in town. What’s more, we’re thankful they love our treats so much they want a piece of home when they’re far away. We’ve shipped Sand Tarts and other delicious goodies across the country when they’re celebrating special moments – opening nights, Olympic appearances, Comedy Club performances, birthdays, holiday fun and so much more. It’s great to be a part of this!
We’ve had a lot of proud moments over the years, including our partnering with Daybreak of Dayton to begin Lindy’s Bakery, a homeless shelter for at-risk youths business concept that was launched baking dog treats to sell to customers. Greg formulated all the recipes and we trained the staff and students in our bakery for a year to ensure they had all the training needed to set them up for success. They recently opened their own bakery and we were proud to have had a hand in the process.
We’re proud to be a part of the community and to work with others in the Dayton area. We serve on numerous boards in the Miami Valley. Not only does our partnership with the University of Dayton allow us to bake tasty treats to keep teams dancing in March, but we’ve had countless incredible students work for us. Those students have gone on to do amazing things in their lives and professional careers and have kept in touch with us. One such student, Sarah, is a VP for Starbucks, but regularly calls just to say hello…and to thank us for teaching her about loyalty, work ethic, honesty and how to treat customers and fellow employees. We hang up from calls like that feeling proud to have made such a lasting impression and a lasting connection.
Celebrate with us
No matter how much has changed in the past 35 years, many things at Ashley’s remain the same. Our commitment to provide not just delicious treats but excellent customer service has and will always be a top priority. When you walk into our bakery, we hope you feel welcomed, especially when we remember your name and your favorite sweet treat. We love what we do and we hope that shows. We like to say we don’t make memories but we bake them. We’ve baked a lot over the last three and a half decades, and have had a lot of fun doing it. Thank you for being a part of it and thank you for choosing Ashley’s. We invite you to celebrate with us on the 15th — stop in and have a cupcake and maybe win a prize!
