There is a lot of red, white and blue in the bakery these days. It’s not the Fourth of July just yet, but Flag Day is this Sunday, June 14. Flag Day is held June 14 every year to honor our flag — which represents freedom and has been an enduring symbol of the country’s ideals since the early days. It’s also a day meant to observe the nation’s unity, which is something we need now more than ever.

Things feel heavy in the world today. There’s uncertainty about COVID-19. There’s a push for much-needed change in this country. People want to be heard and it’s time we listen. It’s also a time to come together and realize we really are at our best as a country when we work together.

Hopefully you plan to honor Flag Day, even i it’s just in a small way, doing something as simple as flying your American flag on your front porch or displaying the star-spangled banner in your home.

You can count on Ashley’s Pastries to have plenty of tasty treats ready for you. Start the day with a donut decorated in red, white and blue. Pick up a dozen cookies decorated like “Old Glory” or place an order for a special flag cake. Whatever it is you’re looking for, you can be sure to find some delicious patriotic treats in our bakery cases.

We won’t be open on Sunday, but call today or stop in to see us on Saturday and pick up what you need for the red, white and blue.

As you enjoy your sweets and fly your flag, we hope you take a moment to reflect on what it represents — a nation with a strong belief in liberty and justice for all.

As always, thank you for choosing Ashley’s. We’re honored to help you celebrate life deliciously.
